Happy Hammock Day!

How did I not know there was a National Hammock Day? I love hammocks. I actually asked for one for my college graduation. I intended to look really hard for photos of my family in hammocks. It was not difficult. So, you can get to know my family as well. I promise this won’t turn into a “look at pictures of my family” blog, unless it is relevant. And, it is relevant to the holiday. The best holiday, IMO.

The above photo is my husband, Brad, in Cozumel, Mexico. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon, and his goal was to sleep in all the hammocks he could find.

This is us, on the cruise. In the middle of the Caribbean.

My kids and I in our back yard, on my graduation hammock. The one in the orange is Zaster and the other is Chaos. Not their real names, but the names they’ve asked to go by, nicknames they gave each other.

Where is your favorite place to lay out in a hammock and enjoy the sunshine? (or the rain, I suppose, if that’s your thing.)

  1. I live on five acres halfway between two towns and I wish I had trees that could hold a hammock.I have always wanted to nap or just relax and read in one.It looks so comfy and fun.

    1. We have 2 trees, one behind the house and one in front. We ended up getting a hammock with a stand, that might work better, because then we can move it to the sun or the shade!

        1. I’ll have to check out one on a stand that would be perfect to move between my front and back yard.Having five acres of land in the middle of two towns really is amazing.I’m originally from Pennsylvania reloacted to New Mexico so it’s a lot of flat long space between towns.I would hate living in town.

          1. I think I would love NM, but I haven’t been there. Town isn’t too bad. When I married the husband, he came with a house, so, we’re in town for now. 🙂

  2. Moving to New Mexico was a huge adjustment for me after living in the mountains of Pennsylvania. My husband was from NM but was living in PA when we met. After living in this flat desert for two years I love it.Some things I do miss about the east coast but when the sun sets at night in the desert it’s breathtaking.
